Renewed contract with Marseille has seen Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfielder Kylian Mbappe extend his stay at the French capital by another season, after he signed a new three-year deal on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old is one of the most promising young talents in world football and has already established himself as a key player for the French giants.
In his first season at the club, Mbappe scored 24 goals in all competitions, which was the second-highest tally among players under the age of 25 in European history. He also added four assists to his tally, making him one of the top goal scorers in Europe this term.
The move from Monaco to PSG comes just days after Mbappe's signature on a new contract with the French champions, which saw the Frenchman earn his maiden Premier League title with the Gunners last month.
"I'm really excited to be back at Paris," Mbappe said after signing a new three-year deal. "It's been an incredible journey so far and I feel like I've achieved everything that I wanted to achieve."
Mbappe's move to the French capital follows the departure of star striker Zlatan Ibrahimović to Real Madrid earlier this summer, who left the Spanish giants after scoring 77 goals in 88 appearances for PSG.
Ibrahimović had previously expressed his desire to leave Paris for Manchester United, but the Gunners were unable to sign the Croatian forward due to financial reasons.
With Mbappe's arrival, PSG have now strengthened their squad with the addition of another talented attacking threat. The French side will look to build on Mbappe's success and use him as a role model for their youth academy players.
"Kylian is a fantastic talent who deserves every bit of success we get," PSG coach Thomas Tuchel said. "He's got a lot of potential and we're looking forward to seeing what he can do."
