Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has secured their second straight Ligue 1 title, after defeating Openda 2-0 at the Parc des Princes on Saturday night.
The win was PSG's seventh in eight matches this season and it saw them extend their lead at the top of the table to five points over their nearest rivals.
Openda were led by former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, who was in charge for just one match before being sacked following the team's poor performance against PSG.
Despite losing 2-0, Van Gaal praised his players for their effort and said that he would be leaving the club "with a lot of respect".
Meanwhile, PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino hailed his side's performance as they showed their dominance once again.
"We've been playing some great football recently and tonight was another example," Pochettino said.
"It was a tough game but we were able to control the tempo and create chances.
We're happy with the result and we'll look forward to next week's Champions League game."
Van Gaal's departure from Openda will be a blow for the team, but it is likely that they will find new managers soon as the transfer window opens.
Regardless of who takes over, it is clear that PSG are in strong form and have what it takes to defend their title for the foreseeable future.
With such a talented squad and a coach like Pochettino, there is no doubt that PSG will continue to dominate Ligue 1 and beyond.
